The story
BABA is a modern Polish bistro at Nożownicza 1D in Wrocław, recognized with a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2026 for good quality, good value cooking. It is a small, intimate room with a seasonal menu and a serious bar.
Head chef Beata Śniechowska won the second edition of MasterChef Polska and holds a doctorate in engineering from the Wrocław University of Technology. Self-taught at the stove, she reinterprets Polish cuisine and often begins with flavors from childhood. Her produce comes from trusted suppliers, many of them local and organic farms. The plates look simple, but the preparation behind them is long and painstaking.
The concise menu changes with the seasons. Celeriac carpaccio arrives with mushroom pâté, kombu and sunflower seeds. Turbot is served in brown butter sauce with trout roe from Zielenica. For dessert, chocolate mousse comes with arabica meringue and olive oil.
Shades of green, from bottle to olive, run through the interior and meet the metallic finish of the bar. Handmade crafts and art fill the small space, and counter seating is available. The drinks list covers wines, progressive cocktails and selected distillates. Gault&Millau gave the restaurant 14.5 points in 2026, noting its interior and atmosphere.
