The story
Rozewied, listed in Goes, sits at Hoofdstraat 35 in Kortgene (4484 CB), where the kitchen earned 15/20 from Gault&Millau in 2026. The French-leaning fine dining menu is built around local produce, served as a fixed four, five or six course meal.
Ferdy van Rijswijk and Noëmie Haentjens met at Meliefste and opened their own restaurant on the village square of Kortgene in early 2023. They run the kitchen and the front of house themselves. Guests are asked where they have traveled from, which keeps the evening relaxed. Sommelier Sander van der Gaarden, formerly of Meliefste, has since joined the team.
Vegetables from the owners' own garden arrive crisp, with roasted macadamia nuts. An egg with a lukewarm yolk sits on potato mousseline, topped with hand-peeled North Sea sand eels. Lamb from Rapenburg farm comes with a foamy Provençal sauce and wild garlic oil. Earlier menus featured whole turbot roasted with rosemary and finished with beurre blanc made from fish stock.
The dining room has clean lines, Scandinavian wooden tables and chairs, a tiled floor, exposed beams and a large open fireplace. The kitchen is open to the room. Non-alcoholic pairings are offered alongside the courses, including a hibiscus, star anise and thyme drink with the lamb. Michelin lists Rozewied as Recommended for 2026.
