The story
DAR serves plant-based modern cuisine at Weststrasse 20 in Zürich, and the Michelin Guide gave it a Bib Gourmand in 2026 for good quality, good value cooking. The restaurant and café runs from morning coffee through to dinner.
In Moroccan, "dar" means home. In Spanish, "dar" means to give. The kitchen takes its lead from Al-Andalus, with influences from the team's experience elsewhere, and the menu is built for sharing. Food and drinks are entirely plant-based. DAR works with small organic farmers, so the seasons decide when the menu changes.
Dinner is the DAR Sharing Journey, a full tasting through the flavors of Al-Andalus. A shorter discovery menu is also available, with an optional cocktail pairing. On weekends the restaurant turns to brunch, with mimosas and fresh pastries. Midweek mornings bring coffee, pastries and a small selection of snacks. The Green Guide also gave DAR 3 Radishes in 2026.
The drinks list starts with house chai soda, Demeter apple juice from the restaurant's farmers, kombucha from JUNO and Moroccan tea. The wine list covers Swiss and Spanish bottles, plus orange wines and a few mezcals for after dinner.
