The story
Mont-Rouge, at Route de la Télécabine 19 in Sitten, is an International restaurant that earned the Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2026 for good-quality, good-value cooking. The kitchen pairs a restaurant and a brasserie under one roof, with outdoor seating and parking.
Chef Loris Lathion recently simplified the concept and lowered prices. The aim is a down-to-earth kitchen that suits what guests actually want to eat. Seasonal produce and a strong attachment to terroir remain at the centre of the menu.
Gault&Millau awarded the restaurant 14 points for 2026. The amuse-bouche is a small "Raclette 2.0" served as an airy emulsion. Skrei arrives with tomato and gin foam beside crisp aubergine beignets. Seared foie gras is layered into a mille-feuille with caramelised apples, finished with raspberry vinegar and honey. In spring, the veal fillet comes with its pojarski, Valais asparagus and fresh morels. The dessert pairs chocolate and banana in a nostalgic, well-judged finish.
Guests can choose between the restaurant for a longer gastronomic meal and the brasserie for a relaxed lunch or a drink. When the weather allows, the terrace offers a view of the mountains.
