The charming "Café de Peney" with its enchanting terrace is often packed on beautiful days. The dishes on the bistro menu by chef Yannick Geoffroy still arrive at the table flawlessly even during busy periods, but we missed the usual wow effect this time. Nevertheless, the pumpkin soup was delightfully creamy, featuring pumpkin seeds, chestnut pieces, and croutons. The beef tartare, cut exceptionally fine, tasted excellent alongside buttery potato mousseline, while the red wine-braised pork cheeks were perfectly prepared in a rich sauce with Romanesco and also served with potato mousseline. A crisp finish was provided by an apple tartlet with caramel ice cream and salted butter.
