The story
Zilt & Zoet, in Utrecht, is a modern cuisine restaurant at Dorpsweg 153 in Maartensdijk, and it holds a 2026 Michelin Bib Gourmand for good quality and good value cooking.
Rob Beckers leads the kitchen, and the menu changes with the seasons about six times a year. Guests build their own four, five or six course menu, choosing from three options per course, and each course has a vegetarian alternative. Vegan dining is not offered, but the kitchen will talk through allergens with guests before the meal.
Recent menus have included corvina fillet seared skin side down with summer vegetables and crisp polenta, polderhoen with dragon jus, and a lime curd with raspberry sorbet. Asparagus appears in spring as a main, served with salmon, Flemish ham or Aberdeen Angus. A chef's special is sometimes served as a main outside the printed card and is explained at the table.
The Weteringkamer seats up to 20 guests at one oval table for private dinners and meetings. The Proeflokaal, next to the dining room, suits an aperitif or a wine tasting before lunch or dinner. Bottles from the wine list can also be bought at shop prices. In summer, the terrace has a custom shade tent from May and a sunny lunch spot on warmer days.
