The story
Le Nord sits at Soestdijkseweg Noord 492 in Bilthoven, near Utrecht, and holds a place in Lekker500's Top 500 for 2026. The French kitchen works out of a converted farmhouse built in 1885, run by chef Grégory Nicole and his wife Lieke Nicole-Creemers since they opened in 2015.
Grégory Nicole is a French-born patron cuisinier who grew up in a hospitality family in northern France. Guests choose a three, four or five course menu or order from the à la carte card. A separate Les Enfants menu is available for children. The cooking happens in an open kitchen, in view of the dining room.
The most recent Lekker500 review describes a simpler Bistro Chic approach, with fewer steps and pure ingredients. Dishes mentioned there include a rillette de canard served with warm toasted sourdough, and a bouchée à la reine filled with mushrooms, fried sweetbreads, smoked eel and veal jus, finished with grated Parmesan at the table. Dessert is a crème brûlée over vanilla custard.
The farmhouse has a terrace at the rear and sides, plus parking. The wine list leans toward France, with pairings that have included a Basque Txakolina and a white Rioja. The couple also runs Restaurant Norra, their second restaurant, in Bilthoven.
