The story
Infini in Heerlen, at Botterweck 3 in Wahlwiller, is a modern French restaurant that Michelin lists as Recommended for 2026. Michael and Kirsten van Geffen have run the small dining room since 2010, with Michael in the kitchen and Kirsten hosting guests.
Michael van Geffen learned many of his skills from Jannis Brevet, who was patron-cuisinier at Inter Scaldes when it held three Michelin stars. His modern French cooking follows a four or five course menu that changes every month and uses seasonal, local ingredients. Gault&Millau gave Infini 13 points for 2026.
The May menu lists octopus with lime, nduja and beurre blanc, sea bass with fennel and preserved lemon, and asparagus with farm egg and pulled pork. Lamb en croute comes with chicory and artichoke, and the meal ends with strawberry and rhubarb with white chocolate, or a cheese selection in place of dessert. Vegan options are not available, but dietary wishes and allergies can be noted at booking.
