The story
Epices et Nous is a Modern French restaurant at Chaussée de Marche 561 in Erpent, Namur, rated 13.5 by Gault&Millau in 2026 and listed as Recommended by Michelin the same year. Sophie and Denis Delvigne have run it since 1999.
Denis and Sophie trained at the hotel school of the Citadelle and came to restaurants without a family background in the trade. The name comes from Denis's fondness for spices. Gault&Millau describes a family-run house with a classic, reliable kitchen, and the couple's own summary is plain: they do their best to satisfy their guests.
The signature dish is veal sweetbread in the style of carbonara. Crisp cubes of sweetbread come with lardons, fresh pasta, an egg yolk and a cheese tuile. The kitchen also reworks house classics such as the Américain and a hamburger, and adds seasonal suggestions that follow the market.
The three-course menu costs 52 euros without drinks and is served to the whole table, with no substitutions. A recent version opens with mi-cuit duck foie gras or an anchovy pissaladière. Main courses include confit lamb shoulder with merguez and a grilled octopus fricassée with chorizo. Dessert is yellow plum compote with coconut sorbet, or a dark chocolate fondant with pistachio ice cream.
The front room is modern and bright, suited to a brisk meal. The glassed-in veranda at the back is softer and quieter. When the weather allows, tables move out to the terrace.
