The story
De Kruier serves Belgian cooking at Ramskapellestraat 66 in Ramskapelle, part of Brugge, and holds a Gault&Millau score of 14 for 2026. It is also listed in the Michelin guide as Recommended for the same year.
Pieter and his brother opened the restaurant 18 years ago, with the aim of serving honest, pure dishes in an unfussy atmosphere. The kitchen is open, so you can watch the chefs work. The menu is built around fresh, local ingredients, and the style is classic Belgian cuisine without ceremony. The restaurant describes itself as "no nonsense", and the plating and the open pass follow that line.
The building is a former farmhouse next to a mill, which gives the restaurant a rural setting and a calm view over the garden. Gault&Millau singles out the terrace as especially beautiful and inviting. Outdoor seating is available, and parking is on site.
Both lunch and dinner are served, and vegetarian dishes are on offer. The menu is meant for sharing and lingering, whether that means a quiet evening meal or a relaxed lunch with friends.
