The story
Mout is a seasonal bistrobar at Jacob van Maerlantstraat 7 in Damme, Brugge, where the seasonal kitchen earned a Gault&Millau score of 14 for 2026 and a Michelin Guide recommendation.
Chef Quinten Monteyne lets the seasons set the menu. The lunch card changes every two weeks, and the evening menu shifts regularly. Belgian sea fish, local poultry and seasonal vegetables meet in dishes with unexpected pairings.
Gault&Millau singled out a sea bass ceviche, a beef tartare served with spicy Chinese radish, and a dorade royale with snap peas, courgette and wild garlic. The presentations are modern and carefully colored. Lunch always offers a choice between North Sea fish and a meat course, and a fully vegetarian version is available.
Bistrobar Mout sits beside the former brewhouse of De Damse Brouwers, and the microbrewery in the building gives the room a crafted feel. Front-of-house host Sofie Somnel pairs wines and beers and explains the story behind each glass. In good weather, the terrace is open.
