The story
Dôme Sur Mer is a seafood restaurant at Arendstraat 1 in Antwerp, and Gault&Millau gave its modern fish cooking 13.5 in 2026. The kitchen works with fresh produce, seasons with restraint, and keeps its menu anchored in the sea.
Chef de Cuisine Jannis Moons leads the team at the open kitchen. He worked in several Antwerp restaurants before taking over the stove here, bringing varied influences into a menu focused on fish. The Michelin Guide lists the restaurant as Recommended for 2026.
Oysters come in several varieties, including Gillardeau, Fines de Claires and St Vaast, and they are opened only when ordered. Seafood platters range from the "Sur Mer" to a richer version with lobster and langoustine. Other plates include grilled octopus with chickpeas and pickles, Basque-style calamari, and sea bass with hollandaise. Weekly suggestions appear alongside the regular menu.
The terrace opens on sunny days, and guests can settle in with a glass of wine. Restaurant manager Yannick Holthof has worked with the team for more than 15 years and selects the wine list, which pairs natural wines with classic bottles. He knows many regulars by name, and the owners, Frédéric and Evangeline Chabbert, run this restaurant alongside their sister restaurant Dôme.
