The story
OCAK is a Turkish kitchen at Mimar Vedat Sokak No:5, Hobyar Mahallesi, Fatih, Istanbul, and Gault&Millau gave it a 12.5 for 2026. The restaurant serves set menus only, built on Anatolian cooking traditions.
The kitchen offers 5 or 7-course tasting menus and does not print an à la carte list. Dishes draw on traditional Turkish cooking with modern touches, using seasonal ingredients. Each ingredient is sourced from local producers. Wines can be paired with the menu to complement each course. Michelin lists the restaurant as Recommended for 2026.
Vegetarian options are part of the tasting menus, including grilled oyster mushrooms with caramelized apples and talas kebab with cheese. Most dishes contain gluten, though gluten-free options are available. Guests with celiac disease or similar health concerns are advised against dining here. Gault&Millau also notes vegan options on the menu.
The dining room sits in the basement of the Regie Ottoman Hotel, in the historic peninsula. The dress code is smart casual, and guests must be at least 8 years old. Smoking is not permitted indoors, but a smoking area is set up outside in front of the hotel. There is no parking or valet on site, though staff can direct guests to nearby lots.
