The story
Acquario is the modern cuisine restaurant on the sixth floor of Hotel Monopol at ul. Heleny Modrzejewskiej 2, 50-071 Wrocław, and Gault&Millau awarded it 12.5 points for 2026.
Chef de cuisine Mariusz Kozak trained at Westminster Kingsway College and then spent eight years in London kitchens. Back in Poland, he worked at Brasserie Warsaw and Food Art Gallery. He names French cooking as his main influence, especially its technique and its balance of flavours. The menu changes monthly and follows seasonal produce.
Grilled lobster with Caesar salad and tarragon, and agnolotti with lamb, labneh yoghurt and bagna cauda sauce, are among the starters. The main courses include skrei cod with white bean ragout and chorizo, and a chargrilled rib eye served with pomme dauphine. Dessert might be pear poached in wine with white chocolate, parsnip espuma and yuzu ice cream.
Floor-to-ceiling glass walls frame the view over Wrocław, and a spacious terrace opens beside the dining room. The interior is minimalist, with an open kitchen where guests can watch the line at work. The Michelin Guide lists Acquario as Recommended for 2026.
The wine list leans Italian, with French and Spanish bottles and several Polish vineyards. Guests can buy bottles on site or order them for delivery, which carries a 20% discount. A five-course tasting menu can be paired with wine selected by the sommeliers.
