The story
Tapisco is a Spanish restaurant at Kneuterdijk 11 in The Hague, awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2026 for good quality, good value cooking.
The kitchen draws on both Spain and Portugal, with bites, tapas, petiscos and larger platos, sometimes given a local twist. Gault&Millau scored it 12.5 in 2026. Its inspectors noted the Portuguese floor tiles and the Spanish hams behind the bar, which make the room feel briefly like the Iberian Peninsula.
At lunch, chef Marcel van der Kleijn cooks a daily three-course Bib Gourmand menu for €49.50 per person. Fish, meat or vegetarian is offered at each course. Those who want to sit closer to the stove can book the Chef's Table in the kitchen, hosted by Chef Dario.
The wine list focuses on Spain and Portugal, and it carries every bottle from Compañía de Vinos Telmo Rodríguez. A wall mural by artist Andy Kirton maps that producer's estates across Spain. Cocktails run from classics to Tapisco signatures, with mocktails and gin and tonics on the same card.
