The story
Restaurant Eindeloos sits at Korfmakersstraat 17 in Leeuwarden, where owner-chef Willem Schaafsma runs a modern cuisine kitchen built on regional produce. Gault&Millau gave the restaurant 15.5 points in 2026, and it appears in the Lekker500 Top 500 for the same year.
Schaafsma took over the restaurant in 2009 and describes his style as elegant simplicity on the plate. Vegetables and herbs often form the base of each dish, with fish, meat or game added alongside. Head chef Jesse Krekelaar works with him on a tasting menu that changes often. The French-Mediterranean foundation sometimes picks up Asian notes, especially in sauces and spice blends.
The building was once a cobbler's shop and has since been restored into a dining room that mixes classic and modern details. A photography exhibition by Henk Bleeker is built into the interior. Guests choose the Endeloos Tasting Menu or a fully plant-based version, and it helps to say which one you want when you book.
