The story
SINAE is a French restaurant in Osaka, at 2F, 2-4-12 Fushimimachi, Chuo-ku, and it earned one Michelin star in 2026. Owner-chef Kazuhiko Daito runs the 14-seat room, which is a short walk from Kitahama station, and presents Japanese terroir through French technique.
Kazuhiko Daito, born in Fukuoka in 1976, moved to France in 2000 after several years in a Tokyo restaurant. He worked in French kitchens before joining the Alain Ducasse group at Plaza Athénée in 2003. He later became head chef of the Osaka Benoit restaurant, and in 2012 he opened Essencial in Kitahama. That restaurant closed in January 2022, and it reopened under the SINAE name in Fushimimachi that October.
The kitchen works from three words: simple, natural, essence. The menu takes Japanese terroir and finishes it in French cooking, so the flavors read as local while the structure stays classical. Gault&Millau awarded the restaurant 15.5 points for 2026, a few months before the Michelin star was announced.
The dining room has 14 seats, all at tables. Lunch and dinner are both served, and the team also takes reservations by phone, email, or Instagram direct message.
