The story
Nobu Budapest is a Japanese restaurant at Kempinski Hotel Corvinus, Erzsébet tér 7-8, Budapest, where the kitchen works in nikkei cuisine. Gault&Millau awarded it 14 points for 2026, and Michelin lists it as Recommended the same year.
The menu blends Japanese and Peruvian traditions, with unusual ingredients, techniques and sharp flavour pairings. The tiradito, made with scallops and a fiery spice blend, is the dish reviewers return to most. Yellowfin tuna is a house favourite. Soft-shell crab karaage arrives with ponzu, jalapeño and cilantro, and the kitchen also serves seafood that is rarely found on other Budapest menus.
The dining room is minimalist, with warm brown tones softening the walls and furniture. In the evening the bar lights up with a glowing blue pattern inspired by branches and roots. Guests are greeted with a traditional Japanese phrase on the way to their table. Service can feel uneven when several servers share one table. The wine list covers international and Hungarian bottles, though prices run high. The sake list and counter seating are also available.
