The story
Zur Linde, at Bachstr. 12 in Mülheim-Kärlich, is a country-cooking restaurant listed as Recommended by the Michelin Guide in 2026. Sandra and Marco Linden run the house.
The menu describes its cooking as German cuisine built on classical French foundations, with outside influences folded in. Schlemmer Atlas gave the restaurant 2 Kochlöffel in 2026 and describes a traditional house behind half-timbered walls and historic masonry. The Mediterranean side shows up among the starters: Pimentos de Padrón with sea salt, lukewarm marinated pulpo with paprika and celery, and giant prawns with olive oil and garlic.
The classics lean regional. Cordon bleu comes from Eifel country pork with Eifel mountain cheese, and the veal Wiener schnitzel arrives with cranberries. Beef cheek is braised gently and served in a Spätburgunder sauce. A goat cheese starter uses cheese from Vulkanhof Gillenfeld, paired with kohlrabi carpaccio and paprika-mango chutney. A four-course menu is offered at 73 euros.
Sweets stay close to home. The poppy parfait comes with a ragout of Mülheim plums, and Lindens Tiramisu is served in a glass with cherry ragout. For something stronger, there is a 10-year Graham's tawny port by the 5 cl measure.
