The story
Schorse im Leineschloss is a French restaurant at Hannah-Ahrendt-Platz 1 in Hannover, and it holds a Michelin Recommended distinction for 2026. The French kitchen meets English-style service in the Leineschloss, right on the Leine.
Maik Neumann leads the kitchen as Küchenchef, and the menu draws on classic French dishes. Expect a Tatar, Pâté de la reine filled with red-wine-braised guinea fowl ragout, and a 180g Rinderfilet served with Sauce Béarnaise. The Schlemmer Atlas gives the restaurant 2.5 Kochlöffel and praises the careful carving and plating.
Some dishes come to the table on a service trolley. The Menü de Poulet, a two-course French maize chicken, is one of them, and the cheese selection from Waltmann in Erlangen also rolls over. The terrace sits among water and striking architecture, while the interior is contemporary and relaxed. For dessert, the Crème Brûlée comes with blood orange and tonka bean ice cream.
