The story
Anthony's Kitchen in Düsseldorf, at Moerser Straße 81 in Meerbusch, serves modern fusion cuisine built on West African roots, and it holds one Michelin star (2026). Host and head chef Anthony Sarpong cooks the food of his homeland, Ghana, and brings in flavors from around the world.
Sarpong's cooking blends its influences so that the flavors settle into one another. West African ingredients stay central throughout the menu. A fermented cornmeal porridge shows that approach most clearly, next to dishes that draw on other traditions.
The kitchen runs two rotating menus each month, one with four courses and one with six, and has added à la carte dishes. The guinea fowl breast comes with a mango-chili gel and saffron polenta, served alongside sweet-and-sour braised pear. Guests can choose fish or meat, and the six-course menu can be prepared fully vegan on request.
The dining room has an elegant black interior, and the attentive service gives it a relaxed, open feel. Tables face a direct view of the mise en place. The wine list is concise and focuses on European producers, with a small selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails.
