The story
Kadena, at Ivana pl. Zajca 4 in Split, is a seasonal Mediterranean restaurant listed as Michelin Recommended for 2026. The kitchen cooks from the daily catch, pairing traditional Mediterranean dishes with modern technique, and the dining room sits directly above the Zenta marina.
Fish and seafood set the menu, and the choice changes with each day's delivery. A sea bass fillet served with grilled vegetables and traditional Swiss chard has been described as perfectly cooked, firm and juicy. Scampi carpaccio is not always available, so it is worth asking before you order.
Tuna tartare comes with basil oil and tomatoes, which add colour and a fresh herbal note. Cream soups, risottos and pasta also feature. The restaurant bakes its own bread in-house. Gault&Millau rated Kadena 15 in 2026, and its reviewers singled out the tiramisù as one of the best in town.
Kadena stays open all year, and its large space and terrace suit big groups and business lunches as well as smaller tables. The interior is elegantly decorated, and the venue offers air conditioning, outdoor seating and wheelchair access. The wine list is extensive.
