The story
CucinaMarangon, an Italian restaurant at Patersstraat 9 in Turnhout, earned 13 points from Gault&Millau in 2026. Fabio Marangon and Liana Cappiello run the kitchen and dining room in a townhouse near the town market, serving seasonal Italian produce with wines imported from Italy.
Fabio taught himself to cook, then trained in several Italian starred kitchens while searching for his culinary roots. Liana calls the family recipes her nonna's, and she leads the stove and the floor. The menu changes every two months, so dishes shift with the season.
The tagliatelle al nero di seppia arrives with lobster, vongole and bottarga. Risotto comes with quail and pancetta, finished with shaved Parmigiano Reggiano. Gault&Millau singled out the ravioli with ricotta, spinach and lemon zest, and the Italian kitchen closes with tiramisu flavored with speculaas.
