The story
Portobelfino, at Houtbriel 24 in Sint-Niklaas, is an Asian-leaning kitchen built on French technique. Gault&Millau rated it 12 in 2026.
Chef Ritchie De Clercq writes varied, balanced menus around what the market offers. French cuisine is the foundation, applied with restraint. The restaurant itself calls the result French cooking with an Asian twist. Lunch follows the same rhythm, changing daily in two, three or four courses.
The experience menu is priced at 82 or 93 euros. It includes Zeeland oyster with fennel and dill, and chioggia beet with ponzu and sea tongue. Veal arrives with green asparagus and girolle, and strawberry with avocado and basil closes the meal. Ponzu is one of the clearest Asian notes on the list.
