The story
Le Beau Rivage by Curtis serves modern French cooking at Rue du Rivage 8 in Dave, just outside Namur, and it holds one Michelin star for 2026. The restaurant sits on the banks of the Meuse, where chef Curtis Maquet runs his own kitchen.
Maquet started in his family's restaurant as a child, then trained at school and in gastronomic kitchens. He worked at Le Peiffeschof, a fine dining table run by Thierry Neyens, and did a stage at La Régalade under Eddy Mertens. His longest stint was at La Table de Maxime in Our, where he rose to sous-chef. He opened his own restaurant in April 2024. Gault&Millau gave the restaurant 14.5 in 2026, praising precise, inspired cooking and a starter built on carrots.
The wine list is shaped by sommelier Frédéric Cabus, named best sommelier of Belgium in 2023. The restaurant is also the first Riedel glass ambassador in Wallonia. Guests can order a wine pairing or a non-alcoholic pairing that the chef prepares. The cocktail list includes a Sazerac with rye, genever and green chartreuse, and a gin and tonic made with Elske tonic syrup.
