The story
Bonheur Simple serves Thai cuisine at voie de l'Ardenne 108 in Embourg, on the edge of Liège, and appears in the Michelin Guide's Recommended selection for 2026. The restaurant has run since late 2012.
The dining room sits inside a restored former farmhouse. Behind the plain façade are a tended garden, a small bridge and thick greenery, and in summer meals move out to the terrace. The mood is calm and pared back.
The chef reworks traditional Thai recipes and adds personal creations, keeping the card deliberately brief to stay seasonal. Starters include lobster ravioli in a Thai whisky bisque and soft shell crab tempura with yellow curry. Mains run from Ardennes farm chicken in Massaman curry to lacquered duck with green curry and coconut milk. Lobster with five spices is the top-priced dish.
Set menus come at several levels. Weekday lunch is a two-course formula, and the evening menu adds a Dame blanche to finish. The tasting menu runs four or five services, with baby lobster in the longer version. The Gault&Millau 2026 guide scores the kitchen 12.
The cellar holds close to 100 references, mostly French, with some from the New World. Desserts lean on house-made ice creams, among them violet and candied ginger with sake.
