The story
Sel Gris serves a contemporary kitchen at Zeedijk 314 in Knokke, Belgium, and holds one Michelin star in the 2026 guide. The restaurant sits on the seafront promenade in Duinbergen, part of Knokke-Heist.
Chef Frederik Deceuninck worked at Karmeliet and Jardin Tropical before cooking at Sel Gris. The menu is built on honest, natural ingredients and a modern reading of grandmother's cooking. The kitchen aims for food that engages all the senses, not only the palate.
The dining room looks out over the North Sea, with the dunes close by. Gault&Millau describes an elegant, luxury-tinged atmosphere that changes with the light outside, and it scored the restaurant 17 out of 20 for 2026. The site also lists outdoor seating and a space called Loft Exclusif.
