The story
Bartholomeus, at Zeedijk 267 in Knokke-Heist, is a modern cuisine restaurant that earned two Michelin stars (2026) for excellent cooking. The room is fine dining with counter seating, and the wine list is described as interesting.
Bart Desmidt, Philip Vandamme and Sandra Vandegeuchte run the restaurant together. The chefs tell their story through a six-course menu that lets honest, pure produce speak. The house motto, "Simpel maar Goed" (simple but good), guides the cooking. Guests with severe allergies, such as to shellfish or nuts, are asked to flag them in advance.
The drinks list is limited but selected, in keeping with the kitchen's simple approach. It includes a wine list and a choice of wines by the glass. Still and sparkling water is charged as a flat fee per person. Gault&Millau awarded the restaurant 18 points (2026) and praised the unique overall experience it creates for guests in a luxurious yet intimate setting.
