The story
Le Cor de Chasse sits at rue des Combattants 16 in Wéris, near Durbuy, and holds one Michelin star (2026) for its modern gastronomic cooking. Chef-owner Mario Elias prepares the fine dining menus himself, building them around seasonal produce from the surrounding region.
Mario Elias comes from a family of cooks. His great-grandfather sold ice cream from a tricycle on the North Sea coast, and his great-grandmother cooked for a baron and at a hotel in Gstaad, Switzerland. His parents ran restaurants in Koksijde and Barvaux.
Gault&Millau awarded the restaurant 16.5 points in 2026. The guide describes a highly personal style that pairs local ingredients with influences from further afield.
Guests can choose between the à la carte menu, the Découverte menu and the Prestige menu. On Saturday evenings only the Prestige menu is served. Menus change with the arrival of produce, so the printed offer is a snapshot rather than a fixed list.
The wine list is a separate offer, and the restaurant also runs a wine shop on site.
The kitchen can be seen from the dining room, so guests can watch the team at work. The restaurant belongs to a hotel housed in a castle farm dating from 1681, with thirteen rooms, three of them with a private terrace. Wéris is known for its dolmens and menhirs, a short walk from the table.
