The story
Senzanome is an Italian restaurant at Place du Petit Sablon 1 in Brussels, awarded one Michelin star in 2026 for high quality cooking. Giovanni Bruno leads the kitchen.
Bruno learned the trade beside his parents, who arrived in Belgium in the early 1970s and later returned to their native Sicily. He has run Senzanome with Nadia since 1997. His Italian cooking starts from the recipes he grew up with and adds modern technique, with the quality of the produce as the starting point. Gault&Millau gave the restaurant 16 in 2026 and praised how refined the Italian kitchen is here, from a gambero rosso tartare to a bluefin tuna crudo.
The house signature is a compact, silky stracciatella mousse with tomato sorbet and basil-scented oil. Braised sea bass is another option, finished with raisins marinated in vinegar for a mix of salty, sweet and spicy notes. At lunch, a three-course menu costs 75€ and is served to the whole table, with a wine pairing at 25€.
The dining room is long and elegant, in soft colors that suit the Sablon neighborhood. The wine list gets its own praise on the restaurant's site, and a pairing is available. Dinner is served, and smart casual dress is requested.
