The story
Monsieur V is a bistronomy restaurant at Square des Braves 19 in Linkebeek, on the edge of Brussels, and it holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand for 2026. Chef Jan Verhaert cooks from an open kitchen, in a small neighbourhood bistro.
Verhaert cooks what he likes to eat himself: the classics of French cuisine, with an occasional glance toward Italy. The Michelin guide singles out his precise cooking and his taste for intense flavours. The kitchen works with seasonal produce, chosen for taste, freshness and quality.
Pâtés en croûte are a signature, and the hare version draws connoisseurs whenever it appears on the menu. Scallops arrive with a fine Jerusalem artichoke purée and a hazelnut crumble. Other dishes mentioned by the guides include confit pork cheeks, a venison civet and a rum baba.
The bistro is small, with a warm, tidy atmosphere, and the open kitchen is part of the room. Gault&Millau rates it 13.5 out of 20 for 2026, with two toques. It also awards a coup de coeur and a prix plaisir, which fits the value-minded cooking the Bib Gourmand recognises.
