The story
La Branche d'Olivier is a classic cuisine bistro at rue Engeland 172 in Uccle, Brussels, and it earned a 2026 Michelin Bib Gourmand for good-quality, good-value cooking.
The kitchen follows the traditions of the brasserie, and the dishes change with the seasons and the market. Chef Jean-Claude Demurger, a roaster and saucier by training, sets the daily suggestions on a chalkboard. The menu also includes a well-aged cheese, as classic bistros do.
The dining room keeps its old wood panelling and tiled floors, giving it the feel of a Parisian bistro. The wine list offers around a hundred references chosen to pair with the food. Outdoor seating is available, and the restaurant sits on the edge of the Kinsendael nature reserve.
