The story
Charlu is a Southwest French brasserie at Chaussée de Saint-Job 676 in Uccle, Brussels. Gault&Millau scored it 13 in 2026, and the Michelin Guide lists it as a 2026 recommendation.
Jean-Pierre Gascoin, formerly of Toucan and Chez Marie, cooks Parisian and Brussels classics. On one visit, Le Fooding noted pig's trotter croquettes with mustard and steak tartare prepared to order. Fries cooked in beef fat come with caper mayonnaise and cornichons.
Red leather sofas, wood paneling and vintage black-and-white photos set the tone. Antoine Salviat works the front of house, and his accent points to his roots in southwestern France. Figs roasted in cognac, served warm with vanilla ice cream, close the meal. Outdoor seating and private parking make it easy to linger, and every dish is also available to take away.
