The story
Chaga is a French restaurant in Brussels at Avenue Marnix 21, and it holds 15 points in the 2026 Gault&Millau guide. The kitchen works in the French fine dining tradition, with a menu that changes through the seasons and the chef's inspiration.
Kevin Lejeune leads the kitchen, where open flames meet precise technique. The menu changes with the seasons, so the dishes you order in spring may not return in autumn. Lejeune has said the open kitchen demands discipline, but the closeness to guests creates moments of connection he values.
Guests sit around an enamelled lava stone counter and watch the brigade work. The seven-course menu costs 195 euros with omnivore dishes or 150 euros vegetarian, and the five-course menu costs 160 euros or 130 euros. A la carte service is not offered on Fridays and Saturdays.
The restaurant occupies the fourth floor of a restored townhouse, and Parisian designer Sarah Lavoine shaped the interior. Start at BAR 21 on the way in, where the list includes Ruinart Blanc de Blancs, Negroni and Martini. Smart attire is required, and pets are not permitted.
