The story
The Jane is a contemporary fine dining restaurant at Limastraat 5 in Antwerp, where Nick Bril cooks to a Gault&Millau score of 18.5 (2026).
Since 5 October 2025, the restaurant has occupied the Montevideo warehouse site on Het Eilandje, between the Scheldt and the Kattendijk Dock. For eleven years before that, it lived in a former chapel in the Groen Kwartier. Nicolas Schuybroek designed the interior as a brutalist framework with refined details. A lively kitchen sits at the centre of the room.
Bril describes his cooking with that phrase. Vegetables carry the seasonal menu, fish is allowed to ripen, and shellfish and crustaceans get real attention. Meat appears as a good piece, never too much. He calls the result a modern, carefully curated fusion, and the restaurant was ranked 23rd on The World's 50 Best Restaurants list in 2022.
Three set menus are offered: The Jane at Noon (lunch only), The Jane's Experience and The Jane's Signature. Drinks come as the Raïssa Selected wine pairing, a non-alcoholic selection or the Jane&Juice selection. The restaurant also serves à la carte drinks for guests who prefer to choose their own.
