The story
Pont Neuf is a seafood restaurant at Verbindingsdok Oostkaai 9 in Antwerp, on the Eilandje dock, and it holds a Michelin star (2026). The kitchen works from a changing à la carte menu built around North Sea fish and shellfish, with no fixed set menu.
Tommy Bocklandt trained at the Ter Duinen culinary school in Koksijde and worked in Antwerp's fine dining kitchens before opening Pont Neuf in 2020. His seafood cooking keeps the plate simple: no unnecessary garnish, classic technique, and a menu shaped by the season and the fishmonger's daily catch. The Gault&Millau guide awarded the restaurant 14.5 in 2026.
Recent menus have included sole meunière with butter lettuce and French fries, and skate wing with a sherry and mustard sauce. Brill comes with beurre blanc, crustacean and caviar, while pan-seared scallops arrive with spring vegetables. Turbot, Oosterschelde lobster and North Sea crab also feature in the kitchen's descriptions. For meat eaters, the menu offers pigeon 'Clamart' and an ocean-beef with pepper sauce.
Dominique Leroy, the maître d'hôtel, leads the room with calm attention. The restaurant looks out over the dock and toward the MAS museum. In warmer months the terrace opens onto the quay, a good spot for a glass of white Burgundy or Barbera d'Alba.
The wine list leans Mediterranean, with bottles from Burgundy and Barolo alongside discoveries from Etna, Sardinia and Spain. Pairings are chosen bottle by bottle rather than from a fixed formula, and there are non-alcoholic options too.
