The story
Pastorale Kultursalon & Sommergarten in Limburg an der Lahn serves a Mediterranean kitchen from Joseph-Heppel-Str. 1 a, 65549, in a former cemetery chapel on the Schafsberg. The Schlemmer Atlas awarded it 1,5 Kochlöffel in 2026.
The menu runs vegan and vegetarian dishes alongside fish and meat. Recent listings include stuffed beetroot dumplings with goat cheese, a Wiener Schnitzel of veal, and a grilled Entrecôte. Chef Valentin Ruci and his colleague Orest Rama cook with fresh regional ingredients. Orest's orange tiramisu is a house specialty on the dessert list.
The dining room sits under high, neo-Gothic vaults, with upholstered chairs and a lighting and sound system built for both dinners and concerts. The chapel was the municipal cemetery chapel until 1973, when it was used ecumenically. In summer, the garden offers 120 seats. The stage holds more than 15,000 vinyl and shellac records, and the oldest dates from 1904.
