The story
La Tête d'Or is a French steakhouse at 318 Park Ave. S. in New York City, and it holds a Michelin Recommended distinction for 2026. Daniel Boulud's restaurant reworks steakhouse classics with French technique, in the Flatiron District.
Daniel Boulud, a Lyon native who has lived in New York since 1982, shapes the menu around what he calls the French "triple S" philosophy: soul, seasoning and sauces. Mitchell Lienhard is culinary director, and Maria Arroyo leads the pastry kitchen as executive pastry chef. Greenmarket vegetables anchor the seasonal side of the menu.
The steaks sit at the center, from a 34 oz côte de bœuf to a 16 oz rib-eye and a Chateaubriand that can be finished Rossini style. Seafood runs alongside them, including hamachi crudo with rhubarb and Dover sole meunière with lemon-caper butter. Prime rib is carved tableside. The wine program also earned a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence in 2025.
David Rockwell designed the room, which has soaring ceilings, deep blue banquettes, and warm wood and copper accents. The name honors the stately park in Lyon, Boulud's hometown. Private dining spaces accommodate groups of different sizes, and menus and wine offerings can be tailored to each party.
