The story
Muutto Anatolian Tapas Bar operates at Galataport İstanbul, Meclis-i Mebusan Caddesi No:8 in Beyoğlu, where the kitchen serves contemporary Anatolian tapas meant for sharing. Gault&Millau awarded it 12.5 points in 2026.
Chef Umut Karakuş gives traditional Anatolian dishes a modern tapas treatment. The menu is built from small plates for the table, so a group can order across it. Ingredients such as walnuts, sumac and mulberry molasses recur through the kitchen, showing up in the leaf liver with halloumi.
Raw meatballs come with tenderloin, brown bulgur and avocado, and the sea bass is served with mustard, pear juice and sesame. Tapas trios are split into vegetarian, fish and meat versions. Heartier plates include couscous paella with shrimp, mussels and dried mulberries, and beef ribs with cauliflower purée and bone broth.
The restaurant sits inside the Galataport complex, with views toward the Bosphorus and the Historic Peninsula. It offers outdoor seating and a private room, and the Michelin Guide recommended it in 2026. Dessert includes muhallebi with seasonal fruit and cardamom, sütlaç with orange and pistachio ice cream, and a revani tiramisu finished with Turkish coffee.
