The story
Centovalli is a restaurant and hotel at Via Vecchia Stazione 5 in Ponte Brolla, Locarno, serving Ticino cooking and rated 13 by Gault&Millau in 2026. The Michelin Guide also lists it as Recommended for 2026.
The Leoni family has run Centovalli for a good eighty years. The house stands among palms at the foot of a rock wall, with a tended garden and a pleasant dining room. Outdoor seating and parking are both available. The restaurant's own motto reads "Poche cose, ma buone" (few things, but good).
Gault&Millau's inspectors praised a garden-fresh leaf salad served in a large bowl and a cold tomato and strawberry soup. The goat cheese mousse comes with basil, Maggia pepper and bruschetta. Ricotta and spinach ravioli in sage butter can lead into tender lamb fillets with a strong pepper jus, or a beef fillet.
Both mains arrive with the house specialty, a porcini risotto with Gorgonzola that the guide calls legendary. Dessert is a Ticino grape sorbet with grappa. The compact wine list sticks to crus from Ticino and Italy.
