The story
Radici sits at Chemin de la Treille 13 in Penthaz, between Lausanne and Cossonay, and serves Italian cooking rooted in the south of the country. Gault&Millau gave it a score of 12 in 2026, praising the traditional Italian kitchen with contemporary accents.
The name means "roots," and those of chef Paolo Porcelli and his partner Sebastiano Sonnazzi lie in southern Italy. They met at La Poesia in Lausanne, then took over the former La Treille in Penthaz. The restaurant's own words stress family, friendship and tradition, and the plates follow that lead with an Italian kitchen that stays close to home cooking.
Gault&Millau's inspectors began with polpette, fried meatballs with Parmesan and onion compote. An aubergine parmigiana came with candied onions from Calabria and a mozzarella and basil infusion. The paccheri with pork, beef and buffalo ricotta showed the pasta is handled with care.
Fish appears as a rolled sea bream fillet stuffed with herbs, served with fennel and orange oil sauce. The pork chops are grilled over charcoal in the kitchen, then finished with a blowtorch at the table for a smoky edge. Dessert was a poached pear with Baileys coulis and almond crumble.
The dining room is described as elegant, and the venue offers outdoor seating and free parking. Gambero Rosso also lists Radici with one fork for 2026. A daily menu with set formulas, including a vegetarian option, sits alongside the main carte.
