The story
SUAHOY is a Thai restaurant at Rue Prévost-Martin 25 in Geneva, awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2026 for good quality, good value cooking.
Head chef Yuttakan Pongkunsup, known to all as Oad, cooks in the Plainpalais district and pairs regional Thai recipes with Swiss produce, notably pork from Jussy. Gault&Millau rated the kitchen 14 in 2026 and pointed out a wine list better stocked than you would expect. The name comes from a story about a tiger, "Sua", who was so hungry, "hoy". The team says it cooks the old recipes it likes to eat in Thailand.
Pork belly from Jussy is grilled over charcoal on skewers and served with an Isaan-style pla ra sauce and fried sticky rice cakes. Khao soi follows a Chiang Mai recipe with beef in a spiced curry broth, and it appears at lunch only. Seua Rong Hai, the "crying tiger" entrecôte, is aged, grilled and served with a spicy tamarind dip. Massaman curry gets slow-braised pork cheek, roti and soft potatoes.
Mango sticky rice comes with coconut rice infused with pandan leaf. Boei loei brings glutinous rice and taro pearls in warm coconut milk. Larger parties are steered toward a shared tasting menu made to order. A separate space, Le Studio, hosts private events, and the restaurant also runs cooking workshops.
