The story
Belle Vue is the restaurant of the Bellevue Parkhotel & Spa at Bellevuestrasse 15 in Adelboden. It serves classic, seasonal cuisine and holds 14 points in the 2026 Gault&Millau guide.
Jiri Urban runs the kitchen. He took over from Jürgen Willing, who left after 21 years, and had worked beside him for years before that. Most evening guests are hotel residents, and the menu is built around them. It changes daily and runs to five courses, with a choice at starter and main course. A small extra card adds four meat dishes.
Gault&Millau's inspectors liked a zander fillet with crisp skin on chard and basil broth. They also praised a parsnip soup poured over a small scallop tartare, and a thinly cut veal paillard served with herb butter. The Michelin Guide lists the restaurant as Recommended for 2026.
On Friday evenings the Adelboden maître fromager affineur Manfred Schmid sets up a cheese buffet of around 50 specialties. The wine list has more than 600 positions, with a focus on Swiss producers and Burgundy. Names include Marie-Thérèse Chappaz and Domaine Dujac. The sommelier recommends bottles at the table.
