The story
Peti 181 is a Mediterranean restaurant at Dvorni trg 1 in Ljubljana's old town, on the Ljubljanica embankment. Gault&Millau awarded it 14.5 points in 2026, and its seafood-led menu explains much of that score.
Fresh Adriatic seafood anchors the menu, and the kitchen keeps the fish's natural flavour at the front. The house raviolo is the dish guests talk about most. Egg yolk, creamy truffle sauce and fish roe sit inside one rich, elegant bite. The gyoza come crisp outside, filled with prawns and set on a delicate pumpkin sauce. The fritto misto is another regular favourite.
The chef trained in France, and foie gras appears on the menu alongside beef tartare with fried capers. Meat eaters can order a flavourful ribeye or a veal shank with very tender meat. The shrimp soup comes with a crunchy tempura shrimp tail. For dessert, apple flambéed with cognac closes the meal.
The room feels warm and intimate in winter. In the warmer months the terrace overlooks Ljubljana Castle, and the view draws guests out before the first plate arrives. Service is attentive without rushing the table.
