The story
Gostilna na Gradu, at Grajska planota 1 in Ljubljana, serves modern Slovenian cuisine inside the castle walls, and Michelin named it Recommended in 2026. The restaurant belongs to the Jezeršek family, whose kitchen works from local and regional ingredients.
Luka Jezeršek leads the kitchen, and the menu changes with the seasons. Jure Starič runs the restaurant, Ana Šušteršič creates the seasonal specialities, and Sebastjan Elbl and his team prepare the menu treats. The cooking takes typical Slovenian dishes and presents them in a contemporary, refined way.
The dry-cured red trout comes with trout caviar, sour milk, buckwheat crisp, green apple and tarragon vinegar. The leteči žganci ("flying žganci") reworks a traditional dish with crisp fried chicken thighs, local herbs and golden roasted potatoes. Gault&Millau gave the restaurant 14.5 in 2026, and the wine list gives Slovenian producers a central place. From 6 pm, only the tasting menu is served.
