The story
Filipa 18 is a modern cuisine restaurant at ul. Św. Filipa 18 in Kraków, and the Gault&Millau guide scored it 14.5 in 2026. It sits inside Hotel Indigo Kraków - Old Town, a short walk from the Main Railway Station and right beside the Old Kleparz market.
Marcin Sołtys writes an author's menu around traditional Polish dishes. He buys at Stary Kleparz according to the season, so the card changes with what the stalls carry. Before taking over this kitchen he spent 12 years at Wierzynek, and he is a Golden Snail laureate of Slow Food Polska. Michelin lists the restaurant as Recommended for 2026.
Dinner starts with a small welcome from the chef and bread baked in-house from wholemeal flour and sourdough. Young lamb tartare and wild boar pierogi with foie gras are among the starters. Vegetarians have the mushroom pęczotto with a fried egg yolk. It is worth asking Sołtys for his Kraków-style maczanka, a pork dish that also appears on the bistro menu. Tasting menus of three or five courses run Tuesday to Saturday, and the wine list ranges across the world.
The interior is done in navy blue and gray. On the walls hang graphics by young Kraków artists from the Polish Poster School. The bistro and the Sky Bar terrace stay open daily from noon to 10 pm.
