The story
The Millèn, at Weena 686 in Rotterdam, serves modern international cuisine on the first floor of the Millennium Tower, directly opposite Central Station. The restaurant holds one Michelin star (2026).
Chef-owner Wim Severein changes the menu every month around seasonal produce. Some ingredients come from the restaurant's own garden, including herbs and vegetables. His cooking draws on years of travel through world cuisines, with spices used to surprise the palate. The results are light and direct, and each ingredient is allowed to taste like itself.
Recent menus have featured Simmental beef tartare with smoked eel on a light potato mousseline, and Canadian lobster on puffed black rice with rhubarb gel. One reviewer described a lightly seared cod finished with lavender oil and basil, served with marinated tomatoes. Desserts have included a cherry dish with white chocolate curls.
Large windows look out over Central Station, and the dining room is finished in shades of grey with sea-green accents. Gault&Millau awarded the restaurant 14 points in 2026, noting how calm the room feels despite the bustle outside. Sommelier Sanne Poppen leads a wine list of European and overseas bottles, many of them available by the glass. The dining room seats 45, and a private dining room takes up to 16 guests.
