The story
Rotonde is a modern Dutch restaurant at Goudsesingel 230, 3011 KE in Rotterdam, where the kitchen builds its menu around vegetables, legumes and grains. It holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand for 2026, a recognition for good-quality, good-value cooking.
Chef Jord Coree and the team work mostly with vegetables, legumes and grains, with much of the produce sourced locally. The charcoal grill and smoke oven add a pronounced smoky edge to many plates. Almost all dishes are vegan, and cheese is the only dairy product in the kitchen.
Broad beans with buckwheat and Indian cress come on buckwheat crackers under a smoky bean cream. Charred leek in XO sauce and a mushroom skewer prepared like satay are sharp and assertive. Dessert brings caramelised rhubarb tarte tatin alongside vegan sunflower seed ice cream finished with pine needles.
The dining room is vintage in style, with a wall of wine bottles, wooden tables with vintage chairs, and music played from records. Seats at the bar sit close to the open kitchen and its wood-fired grill. The restaurant opened at the end of 2021, and the Lekker500 guide has listed it among its Top 500 restaurants in recent years.
