The story
Perceel is an International restaurant at Dorpsstraat 3 in Capelle aan den IJssel, near Rotterdam. It holds one Michelin star (2026) for high quality cooking, served in the former town hall on the Hollandsche IJssel.
Owner-chef Jos Grootscholten grows herbs and flowers in a garden beside the building, and the kitchen picks from it through the season. The base is a classic French cuisine with a nod toward Southern Europe. Guests can choose a lunch menu, a six-course menu, or à la carte. Gault&Millau awarded the restaurant 16.5 in 2026.
The dining room was restyled in 2018 by Rotterdam designer Jeroen Smeele, with velvet upholstery and soft, muted colors. A chef's table seats up to five guests. In summer, the terrace sits directly on the river. For private events, the restaurant seats up to 40, and it has been an official wedding venue since 2015.
