The story
Bosq sits at Bakkenweg 16 in Den Hoorn, Den Helder, Netherlands, where the Mediterranean kitchen of Robin Koenen earned a Michelin Recommended mention for 2026. Robin and Marlies Koenen run the restaurant together, with Robin at the stove and Marlies hosting and pouring the wines.
Robin builds his dishes on local ingredients, layered with Mediterranean herbs, Asian influences and a barbecue. The kingfish crudo, served as a ceviche with ponzu, grapefruit, blood orange and sesame cream, shows up in several recent reviews. Texel lamb is roasted on a kamado until it is very tender.
The restaurant is part of the Bos en Duin apartment hotel, on the edge of the pine forest, with a rustic dining room and a semi-open kitchen. Diners choose à la carte small plates or a four- to six-course BOSQ Experience, and the terrace is popular in good weather. The wine list leans toward Southern Europe, and most bottles are available by the glass.
